Attendance Policy: Attendance is mandatory as each class is an important part of the overall Sacramental class program.  If your child will not be able to attend class, it is imperative that you contact Miss Dawn or Mrs. Hurley prior to the scheduled class.  If your child accumulates 3 unexcused absences, you must meet with the Director of Religious Education before your child can return to class.

Prayer List

Your child's folder contains a prayer list which your child must learn prior to receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.  Each student must be able to properly make the Sign of the Cross and memorize and recite the Our Father, Hail Mary, Act of Contrition and the Glory Be To The Father.  It is imperative that you help your child study and learn these prayers at home so they will be ready for Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.

Homework

Each week the students may receive some homework.  These assignments will only take a short period of time each week to complete.  Parents should also be helping their child learn the required prayers.  Please be actively involved in this important part of your child's Religious Education.

Student Folder

Each student will be issued a folder at the first class.  The student is responsible to bring his/her folder to each class.  The folders are divided into two parts, a "Take Home And Leave Home" section and a "Bring Back To Class" section.  Papers in the "Take Home And Leave Home" section are for your child to bring home and keep.  Papers in the "Bring Back To Class" section are to be brought home and viewed and or signed by a parent or guardian and returned the NEXT class.  Anything attached in the middle area always stays in the folder.   Any student who loses his/her folder will be responsible for replacing the folder.  Work done by your child, parent notices, date changes, etc. will be in the folders.  Share the learning experience with your child by asking to see their work!
